Our Wonderful Team

Josephine Helen - Founder

Josephine is the creator, writer, often reader and workshop leader of Josephine’s Stories!

She has a BA Honours in Musical Theatre, is Mental Health First Aid trained, and has performed all over the UK in a variety of shows, she has also taught drama workshops in both the UK and USA. She has an Enhanced DBS on the update service, and personal liability insurance.

She’s very passionate about children’s theatre and believes it plays a key piece in children’s education, as it often distracts from the ‘scary stuff’ and allows children to see their potential. She wishes to address issues with her stories and work that we face in our day to day, but are often not focused on during school hours.

She takes her inspiration from her Dad; whilst growing up along side a disabled sister and younger brother, her dad would encourage them to make up stories to pass the time - be it at home, or sat around a fire in the garden at weekends.

She hope’s you enjoy listening to her stories as much as she enjoys creating them, and she hopes to see you soon for a workshop, performance or party!

Lily Henley - Illustrator

Lily is the talented illustrator for Josephine’s stories, she creates all the wonderful pictures you see at the start of each story, as well as our logo.

When Lily’s not helping the homeless or spreading yoga love, she can be found with a paint brush in hand. She started her creative journey in late 2019, and dove into the world of illustration.

Drawing for Josephine’s Stories has allowed her to challenge herself through a new style of illustration, which she has really enjoyed. Her art inspiration comes from her mum, who she says is the illustration queen.

Ashleigh Edwards - Actor and Facilitator

Ashleigh is the brilliant Actress you may have seen at one of our shows, but her hard work doesn’t stop there - she also helps to put the shows together.

When Ashleigh isn’t with us she can be found performing in other shows or immersive experiences, organizing events or gigging at the weekends! She is First Aid trained and has a DBS certificate.

Over the years of Ashleigh's theatrical career she has endeavoured to encourage her audience to play. Whether that is a promenade storytelling performance or character development over zoom, she says “to be able to let go of all inhibitions and fully immerse yourself in 'play' is such a gift.”
